What is the minimum computer configuration required for running the courses?

  • Operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7
  • Memory: 512 MB RAM

How should I proceed when studying?

If you wish, for example, to learn about working with Excel and if you already have some experience of working with this program, we recommend that you start by taking the Pre-assessment test for the Excel Introduction course. As soon as you complete the test, you will be able to find, marked on the Study results page, which lesson topics you are already familiar with and that you no longer need to study. Each lesson consists of the three segments - Tutorial, Exercises and Quiz. We recommend that you first study the Tutorial section, immediately afterwards practice the knowledge obtained using the real examples in the Exercises section and finally take a Quiz of your knowledge. You can then continue directly to the next lesson.

What should I do if I have problems with accessing the courses?

Proceed in accordance with the following steps:
1. Check that you have administrator rights to the computer.
2. Install the latest Flash plug-in using this link: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

2. Click Tools (Alt + X), Internet Options.
3. On the Security tab, click Reset all zones to default level.
4. Click OK.

If the problem persists, please contact us directly at e-support@gopas.eu and provide the following information in your e-mail:

  • the version of the course that you are using (Office 2003, Office 2010 etc.),
  • the location from which you run the courses (from a purchased DVD, from a company network, from the Internet),
  • the specific element(s) that fail to start-up (the Tutorial, the Exercises, the Quiz section or the entire course environment),
  • the error notification given by the application or any other indication concerning the error,
  • whether the problem is occurring on just one computer or also on any other computer,
  • the browser that you are using to run the course (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera…).

To show the problem more clearly, please attach a snapshot of the screen illustrating the status at the time when the error occurred. You can create this by using the Print Screen (PrtSc) key at the time when the error has appeared and then, using CTRL+V, pasting it to the Paint application that can be found under Start, Programs, Accessories, then saving it to your hard drive and attaching it to your e-mail.

How can the courses be purchased?

Download
You can download all the courses and install them on your computer at no cost. The courses will then run only in a trial mode, meaning that you will be able to try-out the full versions of our courses for a limited time-period. After this period elapses, you can simply purchase a licence key and then use the courses without any time restriction.

Online
You can start studying all our courses directly from our server. The only requisite is a permanent Internet connection.

If you wish to use the courses in a school or within a company network, we will prepare a multi-licence version for you. Please contact our business department at e-learning@gopas.eu.

Which technology has been used to create the courses?

The courses use the Adobe Flash technology.

Is it possible to purchase only some of the courses from the library?

It is possible to purchase the following packages:

  • the entire MS Office library
  • all three Word courses
  • all three Excel courses
  • all three Access courses
  • both PowerPoint courses
  • both Outlook courses
  • both Windows courses

Is it possible to change the size of the tutorial window?

No, the size of the tutorial window is fixed.

What are the requirements for a server to host the courses?

Since the courses themselves do not make use of any server technologies they can be run on any web server. However, only multi-licence versions of the courses may be hosted.

Where can the courses be placed within a school/company network?

When you use the multi-license version, you can place the courses on the Internet, the company intranet, a shared-network drive or directly on the student's local disk.

Why are the lessons that have been studied not marked as completed?

You can monitor the results of your studies on the Study results page.

Where are the study results saved?

The study results are saved to your profile on your computer.

Is it possible to monitor the study results collectively?

When you use our GOPAS Viewer course player, the study results are saved to your computer and therefore it is not possible to monitor the results of other users. However, after completing the test you can print the results or create a PDF file of a test-completion certificate.

When you use the multi-licence versions of our courses, we recommend that you also obtain an educational system for a full-value user management, including the monitoring of study results, that has been designed to fulfil such purposes. For example, you can use the Moodle system, which is available free of charge. As an improvised solution, you can monitor access from the logs of the web server that the courses are placed on.

Do you also offer an educational system with the courses?

The courses contain a simple running environment that displays the list of the courses and of the lessons in an organised manner, permitting you to search for lessons and remembering the lesson(s) that the student has already studied and the test(s) that he or she has already completed. However, since the study results are saved to the local disk of the user's computer, it is not possible to monitor the study results or to manage courses centrally when the viewer supplied is used. For this purpose, it would be necessary to install a separate educational system and to add the courses to it.

Which educational systems are the courses compatible with?

The courses are compatible with all systems that support the AICC or the SCORM standard.
